About the Author

Hello, my name is Iva Lou DeSiata. I grew up in the Oklahoma Panhandle in a small farming town before my family moved to Texas, where I graduated high school. Later, I met my husband in Colorado, and together we have a beautiful daughter who is my pride and joy. Writing has always been my passion, fueled by an overactive imagination and a love for storytelling. My father could write a poem within minutes, and although I didn’t get that trait, I did get the gift of storytelling. Being the youngest in my family, I seen a lot of things and what stories could come from them. When I was younger, I loved going to the fields with my father and grandpa. I loved sitting in the fields and daydreaming about stories and scenarios.

I have always loved writing short stories when I was younger, but never felt I was any good. Now that I am older, I feel I have grown and much more comfortable with who I am. When my daughter was little, I would tell her stories, that just sprang to mind, and we would have so much fun with creating characters and their background stories. Not only that, but her father and I built a fairy village in our backyard. Everything was solar- powered, so when we were outside, and the lights came on in the village, Emily would want to go into the house. She didn't want to bother the Fairies, but she would watch over them through her bedroom window.

I was sitting at work one day, and I started to think about that village, and it gave me the inspiration for my book. I have poured my heart and soul into this book and have so much passion for it. Just like most authors have, I am willing to fight to find people who believe in my work, just as much as I believe in theirs.
